The main square of Piran, named after the famous violinist Giuseppe Tartini, whose bronze statue dominates its center. The former town harbor was gradually filled in over time and transformed into a spacious square surrounded by Venetian palaces, historic buildings, and cafés. Today it serves as the central gathering place and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city.
A cathedral church from the 14th–17th century that dominates the skyline of Piran, situated at the highest point of the peninsula. The church bell tower serves as a viewpoint with panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and the Istrian peninsula. The interior is adorned with a rich Baroque decor and relics.
Medieval defensive walls rising above the old town, offering one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Slovenian coast. Most of the current walls date from the period between the 15th and 16th centuries, when Piran was under Venetian rule. The walkway along the walls offers panoramic views of the narrow streets of the old town, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding hills.
