Rab is one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic, founded in Roman times under the name Arba. The old town spreads across a narrow peninsula, and its skyline is defined by four Romanesque bell towers visible from the sea. Three parallel stone streets — the Upper, Middle, and Lower — lead visitors past the cathedral, churches, and medieval houses. Beyond the historic core, the island of Rab is also known for its beaches, pine forests, and peaceful coves.
