In the center of the Old Town stands the Black Church, the largest Gothic church in southeastern Europe, built in the 14th century. Above the city rises Mount Tâmpa, offering views of Brașov and the surrounding Carpathians.

The Black Church is a symbol of Brașov and one of the largest Gothic churches in southeastern Europe. It was built between the 14th and 15th centuries, and it received its name after the great fire of 1689, when its walls were blackened by soot. The interior is known for its rich collection of Anatolian carpets, a pipe organ, and a spacious Gothic interior. The church is located in the very center of the old town, near the main square Piața Sfatului.
Sfatul Square is the central square of Brasov's historic old town and has for centuries served as the main hub of trade, gatherings, and civic events. It is surrounded by colorful merchant houses from various periods, while at its center stands the former 15th-century City Hall. Today the square is a lively meeting place with cafes, restaurants, and cultural events, and the building of the former city hall now houses the Brasov History Museum. The square is also the starting point for exploring the old town and its medieval streets.
Brașov Fortress is situated on a hill above the historic city center and was built in the 16th and 17th centuries as part of the city's defensive system. Throughout its history it served as a military fortification, warehouse, and prison. Thanks to its elevated position, it offers a wide view of the old town, the surrounding hills, and the mountain peaks of the Carpathians. The fortress can be reached on foot from the city center or by car.
Sighișoara is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, located in central Transylvania, about 90 km from Brașov.
