Mystras is a former Byzantine city located on the slopes of Mount Taygetos, not far from Sparta. Within the fortified complex are the remains of a palace, monasteries, churches with frescoes, and stone streets that bear witness to the city's importance during the last centuries of the Byzantine Empire. Due to its exceptionally well-preserved architecture and historical significance, Mystras is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Everything you need for Mystras in one place
A fortified Byzantine city from the 13th century and a UNESCO site. On the slopes of the hill stand palaces, churches, monasteries, and stone streets that bear witness to the significance of Mystras during the final centuries of the Byzantine Empire.
A palatial complex that served as the residence of the Despot of Morea between the 13th and 15th centuries. The preserved walls and remains of grand halls make it one of the most important parts of the site.
A 14th-century church carved into the hillside, known for its well-preserved Byzantine frescoes. The walls and vaults are covered with painted scenes that represent one of the most significant examples of late Byzantine painting in Mystras.
The excursion leads to the southern Peloponnese, to the Mani region known for its stone towers, small coastal settlements, and rugged landscape.
